Stepping Out Into the Blogoshpere...

Welcome to my blog and first posting.  First and foremost I will start with a disclaimer/spoiler/caveat/warning or whatever else you may want to call it; If you came to this blog hoping to glean the "secrets" of Freemasonry from me you will be sorely disappointed- because I won't be doing that!  My intention for this blog is to provide an outlet for my thoughts and experiences as they relate to my Faith in God, my role as a father, and/or my journey as a Freemason and how those aspects of my life affect the others.

To those who view, and especially to those who comment on these pages, please know that I will be operating under a modified code of "Lodge" rules.  My Brethren know and understand that when in Lodge we do not discuss denominational/sectarian religion or partisan politics, nor engage in course language.
Given the title and direction of my blog I am sure to touch on these topics to varying degrees; so conversation on them is unavoidable.  I also believe that a healthy exchange of ideas and differing points of view help us grow as individuals, communities, and societies.  However, the use of divisive/dismissive comments, acrimonious hyperbole, or course/rude/bigoted language has no place here.  To borrow a quote from Albert Pike; "Every one is entirely free to reject and dissent from whatsoever herein may seem to him to be untrue or unsound.  It is only required of him that he shall weigh what is taught [said], and give it fair hearing and unprejudiced judgement."
I do not claim to have answers, just thoughts, observations and questions...

So a little about myself...  I am a 41 year old father of two and a relatively "young" mason, raised in  December of 2011, and received my Scottish Rite (SJ) degrees int the spring of 2013.  I currently serve as Chaplain for my Lodge.
I have always had a strong innate sense, and firm belief in God, but varying relationship with the denominational organizational side of religion.
I am fortunate to be married to an incredible woman who is a true partner in life; and we are those lucky few who met in high school and have continued to grow together after almost 25 years.  But by far the greatest joy, as well as greatest challenge in life was becoming a father.

Again, welcome to my page and I hope you find something of value here!
